• Rest assured that you will receive recertification hours by choosing pre-approved continuing education programs. You can spot pre-approved offerings by looking for the Approved for Credit or Approved Provider seal in the organization’s promotional materials. For a list of HRCI Approved Providers, click here.
• Enjoy the ease of entering pre-approved offerings into your online recertification application through “My Recert File” on the homepage of HRCI.org. You’ll receive a program ID number when you complete the continuing education program. Simply enter this number, along with the program’s start and end dates, into the online application. The HRCI system automatically fills in a description of the program and the number of credit hours earned.

Of course, non-pre-approved HR-related professional development offerings also qualify for recertification credit. When you complete a program or experience that has not been pre-approved, you will be asked to provide a description and number of hours requested. (See “Recertification by Continuing Education” and “Calculating Credit Hours” for guidance.) HRCI reviews each submission and will contact you should more information be needed.
