You’re in Good Company!
Through the end of November 2007, there were 89,234 actively certified PHR, SPHR and GPHR professionals. In addition, 99 have passed the California certification, which was launched in April 2007.

Recertification Processing Timeline
If you were due to recertify by December 31, 2007 and have submitted your application, you’re all set. Find out what to expect with this anticipated timeline for application processing.

Put Recertification Panic on “Pause”
Didn’t quite make your December 31 deadline? Don’t panic—you still have until January 31 before late fees take effect. Remember that the online recertification system is the fastest and easiest way to apply. Check out the new Virtual Recertification Tour on HRCI.org to see how it works.

GPHR 2009 Update Progresses
The practice analysis study of global HR—part of a multi-stage update of the GPHR Body of Knowledge and exams—was completed late last year. Input from 588 practitioners who participated in last fall’s survey was vital to the study. This year, HRCI’s GPHR item writers and reviewers will use the updated body of knowledge to create and validate items for revised exams to be administered in 2009 and beyond. HR professionals’ analysis and updates of current practices are absolutely critical to the validity of HRCI’s certifications. Thanks for your ongoing participation.

Congrats, Essay Winners!

Watch for their essays, one per month, in the same section of HRCI.org.

Encourage Colleagues to Pursue Certification
Help colleagues start the new year right by setting their sights on certification. Registration for the May/June 2008 testing window will open in mid-January, with applications due by March 14.
